Thursday Morning
Loading up a truck headed to Tacloban! Tacloban is one of the hardest hit cities from super Typhoon Haiyan. This truck will be loaded with supplies and people (not our team) and head out on a 22 hour drive to the middle islands, where Tacloban is located. We're doing our part by helping them load the truck, which will be heading out soon. We praise God that so many people in the States and elsewhere have sent so many supplies to KIM to send to Tacloban. We see the boxes and piles of supplies and are so happy to put it on this truck. At one point we loaded the truck with people just so that Mr. Long could see how many people he could fit. We're excited for the other team who get to go and can't imagine what it would be like to sit in the back of this truck for 22 hours! We praise God for their willingness and excitement to do that!
Tent City feeding again! Mrs. Evan's mother, Mrs. Chase, brought paint and it was a huge hit! The kids loved having their hands and faces painted. What a joy to see so many smiles!
Late Afternoon & Evening
Mr. & Mrs. Fong's group went on the late afternoon feeding, which wasn't far from the YMC. Ms. Miller and Ms. Hannon's group led devotions at the children's home tonight. They had skits about the good Samaritan and plenty of songs and games. One amazing part of the afternoon was when the Journey for Hope teens came over to receive small group instrument lessons from our students. Our students taught guitar, voice, keyboard, and drums, and they were able to work on two songs - "How Great is Our God" and "Lord I Lift Your Name on High."
