Saturday Morning Field Day
On Saturday morning we walked to Faith Academy where we were joined by Journey for Hope kids for a Field Day! Faith Academy allowed us to use their elementary playground and covered court facility, and it was a perfect location. We played around with the first group of Journey kids until the second group of Journey kids arrived, and then Field Day started! The amazing Ms. Miller from Wuhan was our Field Day director. **More Field Day pictures coming soon!**
Saturday Evening Worship Concert
After an early afternoon of skit practice and cleaning, we took a 5 car caravan to the village near the Journey for Hope ministry. This location is where the Journey kids actually live. We took our Worship Team early to set up, and then the rest of the team arrived around 4:00. The Worship Concert opening performance was 3 SYIS sophomore girls dancing to K-Pop. They learned this dance for a fundraising performance, and we were so excited to have them perform again! The Journey kids kept asking me (Ms. Baker), "Are they professional??" :-) After their opening dance performance, we performed a funny skit, then plunged into worship music. What an exciting time of loving and singing with the kids! I've never seen our boys smile so much! :) J.W.H had a flock of swooning girls calling him Justin Bieber, while most of the others had kids on their shoulders or on their laps - or both! Have fun looking at the beautiful smiles of the Filipino kids, but also, our SYIS-ren. :)
